Well, the gifts have been opened, the treats have been eaten (almost) and my stomach is full of turkey! I can't believe Christmas is over!! It was such a magical week with my little family celebrating this beautiful holiday, and living the magic of Christmas through our childrens eyes. I dare say there is nothing better.

Merry Christmas eve! This time of year is simply magical for our family. I love all of the Christmas lights, the Christmas music, and the excuse to drink hot chocolate every day without feeling judged. Last year we had recently moved to New Jersey, and were in a temporary apartment until we could find a more permanent place to live. Times like that make me appreciate how fun it is to decorate for the holidays. There was/is still so much I wanted to do, but man this month has gone by lightning fast! I swear it gets faster and faster every year! For the past 5 years i've always kept our holiday decor very neutral with gold, silver, and white theme. It always turned out beautiful, but this year I wanted a change. I decided to add some classic holiday red into our decor, and absolutely love it. Because I wanted to switch out our pillows; I decided to switch out our Minted artwork, and put up this mirror in its place. It instantly gave the room a more cozy feel, which was obviously perfect for this time of year. I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season. Merry Christmas!
Tis the season for layers! This month has been such a blast celebrating with my boys. So many Santa visits, Polar Express rides with hot chocolate, and Christmas movies. Its such a magical time for little ones, and being able to experience it through their eyes is just the cherry on top. There's a park near our house thats lit up for the holidays, and we've taken the boys there a few times to see the lights. Bundling up in our coziest layers is always a must. Yowzas folks! Its crunch time!!! I can't believe we are now DAYS until Christmas! This month is flying by and I don't like it one bit! I threw together this post to give you some last minute gift ideas for the holidays, since I'm sure I'm not the only procrastinator out there. ;) Here are some of the best holiday gifts (in my opinion) for kids, the man in your life, and the woman in your life. Last year around this time it was still in the 60's heres in good ole New Jersey, but this year it seems to be much colder. We're actually looking at snow this Saturday, and the boys and I are crazy excited about that. So, I decided it was time to gear up with some snow essentials, including these darling shearling duck boots from G.H. Bass & Co. . You guys, they are so insanely comfortable. I could wear these bad boys all day long. They are lined with shearling, which makes them not only comfy but also keep my feet nice and toasty. I remember as a child, my absolute favorite time of year was Christmas. One year I begged my mom every day for a Christmas tree. During that time she was working 60+ hours a week trying to make ends meet, so buying a Christmas tree was the least of her worries. However, she knew how badly I wanted one. One night after a long day at work, she woke me up and whispered, "would you like to go pick out a Christmas tree with me?" I remember feeling so excited as she put on my shoes and layered my pajamas with a warm coat. Im the fourth child of five kids, so a night out with just my mom was a big treat. We barely made it to the tree lot before it was closing for the night, and we chose the most beautiful tree together. It was such a magical feeling, and one i'll never forget. Now every year when I smell that beautiful fresh pine scent, it brings me right back to that night.
Last month, I had the honor of staying at one of the top rated resorts in the US for a bloggers retreat. The Sea Island Resort in Georgia. I must say, it was such a fun experience I did not want to leave. I even called my husband and told him to bring the kids, I needed to stay few more days! Haha obviously that couldn't happen with the boys school/his work, but I would have been down 100% if he said yes. Driving into the resort was absolutely beautiful. The majestic oak trees with moss ever so beautifully falling down, gave it such an elegant and romantic feel. I kept thinking to myself, "I need to take my husband here. My husband would love this place!" The architecture of the Cloister where we stayed, was absolutely grand and breathtaking. The staff was very helpful, and definitely showed us their "southern hospitality."
Id have to say one of my favorite parts about this season is the endless amount of sweaters and layers I can throw together. Holy Heavens! December needs to slow down a bit, because I'm feeling down to the wire on all of my holiday shopping! Goodness I love this time of year. We found the cutest little outdoor Christmas Tree shop, and decided to stop by and take a look. Oh my goodness you guys, the trees smelt heavenly! We've been to quite a few Tree Farms this year because the boys love them, and this was was by far our favorite. They also had the cutest fresh cut wreaths, and the most beautiful poinsettias. The fence was all decorated with Christmas lights, with lights strung above us. It was beautiful. Beckham insisted on showing us all of his favorite trees, and the shop owner was the sweetest lady. She was so sweet to him, and even offered to bring him out his own little shovel since she could tell he loved playing in dirt (and she's very right). Every tree was named after a famous Author, and it had such a unique feel from other Christmas Tree Farms/ outdoor shops we have been to. Sorry for my rant, but my husband and I were very impressed. If you're in the Hamilton/Princeton area and are on the hunt for the perfect Christmas tree (or flowers in the spring, pumpkins in the fall), make sure to check out Perennial Favorites Garden Center.
