Mothers Day Gift Guide

You guys, Mothers Day has definitely snuck up on me, so I've been hurrying trying to find the best gifts for my mother and mother in law. My first thought is always flowers, but thats a given. I want to show the mothers in my life how much they really mean to me, by giving them something that'll mean a little more then pretty flowers.

First off, this simple initial charm necklace. You can keep it how it is, or maybe add a charm with the birthstones of her children. I've actually hinted to my husband Id love something like this. You can also go with a cookbook and apron if your mom likes to bake (or cook). I remember baking cakes with my mom growing up and being mesmerized by the designs she'd make with the frosting. We'd listen to music and dance around the kitchen while listening to old records. So, this record player would also be the perfect option and hold a lot of meaning for us both. Plus, its pretty stinkin cute!

If you're still not sure what to get, there's always the option for a beautifully scented perfume or the perfect lipstick or face cream. You can't go wrong with any of those options either. A Floral Spring Skirt with Morning Lavender

I think its safe to say ill be wearing dresses and skirts a lot these next few weeks. Something about these gorgeous blooms surrounding our area makes me want to get all fancied up. Our neighborhood is simply magical right now. Nearly every tree is in full bloom and fallen flower petals engulf the streets. Forget about sweeping our front porch, the petals completely cover it within 20 minutes. Its annoying, but also so gorgeous at the same time. Kind of a love hate relationship for sure. For church on Sunday I wore this darling skirt from Morning Lavender and got so many compliments on it. Its the perfect spring skirt, and pairs perfectly with this crochet lace sleeve blouse.

A Playful Kids Bedroom with Beddy's Bedding

Since moving to our new place, its been fun to decorate the boys new room and see how it all turned out with a new floor plan. If you remember their old room featured here, I talked about the C's Beddys Zipper Bedding and how great it was having him able to make his own bed every day. Well, we upgraded him to a full bed and put B in his twin. So, when it came time to looking for bedding, I knew right away what it was going to be.

NY&CO Soho Collection Denim Overalls for the win!

As a mom, finding the perfect outfit thats stylish while also functional can be tricky. I tend to gravitate towards dresses and heels because I love them so much, but lets be honest; they are just not functional when I am constantly chasing around two kiddos. I had always loved overalls and thought they'd be perfect for days out with my kids. Unfortunately, I thought my pear shape body would not look good in them. Eliza J Pink Gingham Spring Dress

My husband and I were at the park getting photos of a couple outfits, and found this hidden treasure of a garden covered in the most beautiful spring blooms. I had gone to change outfits, and when I came back I couldn't find my husband or kids. I had accidentally left my phone in the car, and was wandering all around trying to find them with no luck; until I saw this little brick road that took me right to this place. At the end of the road I saw my kids jumping and playing with their dad, and the most gorgeous trees covered in fresh blooms engulfed around them. It was picture perfect, and I couldn't believe my eyes. If you look closely you can see that the ground was covered in fallen flower petals, giving it the most romantic feel. It was love at first sight, and the perfect place to spend the evening with my boys.

This gingham dress was the perfect ensemble for the occasion, and I can't wait to wear it again. I just want to throw it on and have a picnic while drinking lemonade or something! I mean, is it not the perfect spring/summer dress? I paired it with some simple nude lace up flats, and a blush pink tote. This dress is so beautiful on its own, I wanted to keep my accessories simple so the dress did all of the talking. I hope you all love it as much as I do.

Fab Finds Friday outfit for under $100!

Since the time I started this blog, my style and taste has changed. I think as i've grown, so has my blog and I want to stay true to who I am and what I would wear on a regular basis. I obviously don't post a lot of items from F21 anymore, and like things that are quality vs. quantity. However, I do understand that a lot of my readers probably liked that I didn't post things that were expensive, and a lot of the time even under $30. So, I've decided to dedicate one Friday a month with an outfit under $100! Now obviously I am not including accessories in the total of this outfit, because I know everyone has different taste and accessories are pretty personal from person to person.
