My Hair Story with Dove Hair

Today I'm going to take you down memory lane and share my hair story with you, and how I decided to improve it with Dove Hair. In my high school days all the rave was "teasing" your hair. I would tease my hair so big its almost painful to look back on pictures. I wish I had a few to share with you, but those pictures are locked far far away never to be seen again. Aka, I think I threw them all away in fear someone would blackmail me with them.

Then after high school I decided I should color my hair black with blonde streaks. Honestly, I think this was the worst of them all. I looked like Cruella De Vil. Then after my husband and I got married, I decided I wanted a drastic change. I dyed my hair platinum blonde and boy did I love it! Unfortunately, my hair did not. To this day I still suffer from damage because of that decision. My hair has grown 5x slower, I couldn't seem to get rid of the brittle ends, and the orange tint after my hair fades never seemed to go away.  Im almost to the point where the blonde has finally grown completely out, but it has taken YEARS!

I finally decided to go back to my natural color and get my hair looking healthy again. I even chopped it this last summer and it felt so much healthier, and started to finally grow again! Now, six years later; my hair is starting to feel healthy again, and is regaining its shine and resilience.

I've asked friends and tried the most expensive and high end shampoo and conditioners. Some I liked, but after a couple days it would leave my hair feeling gunky and dirty. Recently I decided it was time to go back to the basics and try the NEW Dove Regenerative Nourishment Collection found at Target. Ive always loved Dove products since High School, and frequently have them in my house. This collection left my hair feeling revived and silky smooth, and honestly looked and felt just as great as the high end hair products I normally use. The Regenerative Nourishment Serum Oil was my favorite part. It made my hair shiny and soft without looking greasy or weighing it down. Which for me is a big deal, considering  I easily tend to gain too much product built up at my roots. I would definitely suggest this collection to anyone looking for beautiful hair without having to spend a fortune.

Next time you are at Target, grab the new Dove Regenerative Nourishment Shampoo, Conditioner and Serum in Oil Your hair will thank you for it!

Day 4 NYFW || Layers of Blush Pink

As NYFW was coming close to an end, I was starting to get a little bored of my normal black outfits. So, I threw on my favorite blush pink coat and layered it with shades of soft pink. When Pantone announced that one of the colors of the year was Rose Quartz, I almost felt a little giddy. It is so close to blush and easily pairs with pastel colors. Im all about soft colors all year, so this was great news for me. In fact, the cross body bag I'm wearing here is rose quartz (probably one of my favorite purchases in a while). This day was my sister in laws last day in NYC, so we spent the day exploring and of course stopping to eat at the best restaurants and bakeries. It was a much needed break from the craziness of the days before. We woke up early and got a big breakfast, took a cab to the Rockefeller Center, and later ended up at Central Park and walked around there for a bit. It was a great day, but lets be honest here; the food was the best part! If you are ever in NYC and love cookies as much as I do, you must stop by Levain Bakery. Imagine the most delicious, soft, ooey gooey, freshly baked chocolate chip cookie you've ever tried, and its 4x the size! Pure heaven I tell ya, pure heaven! Anyway, I hope you all had a great week! Stay tuned for Monday Must haves coming soon!

XOXO

Spring Fever - Spring Clothing top picks

I really don't want to jinx it, but I'm pretty sure Spring is almost here! Its been raining every day this week and the temperatures are slowly rising. Rain means spring flowers, and I'm so excited I can't even wait! Spring in New Jersey is absolutely gorgeous, I can't even put into words how gorgeous it is because its far more beautiful in person. Imagine tree upon tree of pink and white blossoms. Fallen cherry blossom petals all over the roads, so many that most of the time you can't even see the grass, and when you drive they fly up in the air and twirl in the sunlight. It is absolutely magical. So, as I sit here on this rainy day my thoughts are on all things spring. So, I put together a collage of my spring favorites I'm sure you will love. I obviously craving gingham dresses and button down gingham tops, florals, and of course pastel colors galore! Hope you enjoy it!

XOXO

NYFW DAY 3 || FUR ZIPPED CAPE

On the third day of Fashion Week, the temperature hit a record low. They said it was the coldest its been in over 100 years. Wowzas! Fortunately, having been to Alaska and lived in Minnesota for one of their worst winters; I actually didn't think it was that bad. That day we attended the Sarah Seven Presentation and Later that day went to the Leanne Marshall show. Mixed in with a few showrooms, meetings, and of course stopping to eat in between (because NYC has the best food you could possibly imagine!). I can't even put into words how much I adored the Leanne Marshall collection this year. Last year I was in awe at how beautiful her gowns were, but this year it blew me away!

This fur cape kept me warm the entire day, and is probably one of my favorite purchases for Fashion Week. The best part is that its on sale! So, if you're on the East Coast like me and still have snow to look forward to, or if you want the perfect addition to your closet for next year, id definitely take advantage of this sale! My fringe booties were the final touch. I've had my eye on these beauties for a while, and decided to just go for it. Im such a sucker for fringe, but can you blame me? Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this look and are enjoying your week.

Happy Wednesday!
XOXO

NYFW Day 2 || Featuring Adrianna Papell

The second day of NYFW was one of my favorites. We woke up early to make it to the Tadashi Shoji runway show, and it did not disappoint. I've loved his line for a while now, and have purchased a few dresses for my husbands work events. So, as you can imagine; it was a little surreal being able to sit and watch up close as his new designs flooded the runway. It gave me a whole new appreciation for his work and what really goes into it. Later that day we had a few meetings, met with Yosi Samra, ate a big dinner at Carmines (if you're ever in NY, you MUST go there) and ended the night with Francesca Liberatore. I wore this darling sequin cocktail dress from Adrianna Papell, and dressed it down with an extra edgy faux leather jacket. I thought it was appropriate for our busy day, and never felt too dressed up or dressed down. The ombre sequin detailing had me with major heart eyes the second I saw it. <3

I hope you all are enjoying the start of a new week. Happy Monday!

XOXO

NYFW Day 1 || Feather Trim Coat

Goodness gracious have I been crazy busy lately. Went to fashion week, came home and packed up our entire house to move, and moved in to our new home. To top it off, Cayman got an ear infection and landed us in the Insta Care. Poor boy was completely breaking my heart, especially when he's usually such a happy and energetic kid. It's been an eventful couple weeks, but there is also so much to be thankful for and excited about. Fashion week this year was pretty amazing. I promised myself after last year that I would be more organized and actually remember to eat with all of the craziness. I have to say I was more organized, but that didn't mean we weren't always on the go and almost always running late to something. With the events and shows so far apart from each other now, you really have to pick and choose what you can make it to. Even if there are two shows an hour after eachother, there really just isn't enough time to do both. My sister in law Diane (my photographer for the week) captured some fun photos of our first day at Fashion Week. It started with checking into The Gregory Hotel with my roommate Kaitlin. We've both stayed there before and found the customer service to be phenomenal. Later we had a meeting with Shoshanna (who by the way have some AMAZING lines coming out), and then the Desigual runway which is always a good one.  Later that day we had a couple meetings with PR companies, and ended the night with dinner and the Katie Ermilio presentation which was absolutely gorgeous and one of my favorites.

I wore this adorable feather trim coat with tweed detailing my first day at Fashion Week. The moment I saw it, I knew it would be perfect. I paired it with simple black booties and faux leather leggings, along with some leather gloves to keep warm. This bag from Trendlee gave this outfit the perfect touch and brought the whole look up a notch with its gorgeous gold detailing. I am a huge fan of Chanel bags, but just have not been able to bring myself to paying for a bag so expensive when I have a house to furnish. So, I decided renting one for Fashion Week was my best bet. I'm so glad I did. Right now you can use code KISSMEDARLING at checkout for 5% off at Trendlee! So, if you've had your eye on a designer bag but don't want to pay full price, or if you just want to rent a designer bag for a big event; this is the place for you!

Happy Thursday everyone!
XOXO
